Education
The University of Kentucky is a land-grant institution that is uniquely qualified for the One Health Initiative.
The UK One Health Initiative is fortunate to be located on the university’s main campus. UK’s main campus is one of only eight campuses in the nation that has the following colleges on one contiguous campus: agriculture, pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, public health, law, engineering, health sciences, nursing, public policy and administration, diplomacy and international commerce, social work, international center and business. The power of having all these colleges in one area allows students in One Health to interact, collaborate and learn in many areas.
In fall 2025, a graduate course (One Health in Action) will be offered in-person and online. An introductory course in One Health will be offered in spring 2026, followed by the establishment of undergraduate and graduate certificates in One Health in fall 2026.
Student One Health Organization
The Student One Health Organization (SOHO) is now a registered UK organization. We facilitate connecting students from different fields of study to promote the One Health concept, which states humans, animals and the environment are interactively linked and in order to address health issues in both animals and humans we must work across disciplines to obtain a healthy and sustainable planet.
